You are right travel is easy if you don't care what it costs. Spain is still great value most places but I paid $21 for a burger in France last night in a small bar which is a astonishing. It was great though but costs this year have skyrocketed. Although I have a fairly large budget I will spend a few extra days with friends or in cheaper locations to even things out.
