Why, Despite Two Recent Hurricanes, Florida Is Still the Best Place to Live

I just came back from LA. I lived in California for over a decade in the 90s, and while I enjoyed my time there, I would never want to go back. The traffic, smog, and costs are just three reasons. I am lucky I can live anywhere, and having spent time in 49 of the 50 states, I can tell you there is nowhere better than Florida. However, I skip June, July, and August.

With its sun-soaked beaches, lush landscapes, and diverse cultural experiences, Florida has long held a special place in the hearts of residents and visitors alike. Recently, the state has faced two significant hurricanes, prompting discussions about the challenges of living in the Sunshine State. Yet, despite these natural disasters, Florida remains one of the most attractive places to live in the United States. The reasons for this resilience range from economic benefits to lifestyle advantages that simply can’t be matched elsewhere. From no state income tax to a lifestyle centered on outdoor activities like golf, tennis, and boating, Florida still stands as one of the best places to call home.
