The USA & UK Committed to Protect Ukraine’s Sovereignty

There is so much political BS about the war in Ukraine going on in the USA right now. Many Americans apparently don’t understand why we are helping Ukraine and spending a fortune to do so. It’s because we promised to protect their sovereignty, and we are supposed to keep our promises no matter what Trump, Tucker Carlson, many Republicans, or anyone else says about it.

The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances, signed in December 1994, was an agreement between Ukraine, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia. In this memorandum, Ukraine agreed to give up its nuclear weapons inherited from the Soviet Union in exchange for security assurances from the other signatory countries.
