The Secret to Super Productivity — Listen to Your Body, Not the Clock!

People are always amazed by the amount of work or play I can get done in a day. I run several companies, kill it on social media, read a book a week and still find time to write a couple of books a year. So, here’s my secret.

If you are wide awake at 3 am get up; if you are dog tired at 8 pm go to bed; if you feel like a nap at 10:30 am or 2:30 pm, go ahead and take one. Having worked for myself for the last several decades, I have the luxu- ry of working when I want and where I want. I learned early on that I can get far more out of a day if I listen to my body, not what the clock tells me I should do at that time. I am writing this at 2:59 am because I woke up and was wired. Some days if I am very active, I might go to bed at 8 pm, other days at 2 am.

As I mentioned earlier, I often take an 18-minute power nap in the middle of the morning or early afternoon. Refreshed I get up and make coffee pretending like I am getting up for the first time that day. I find I can massively…
