Any hope of positive change that the average, decent person in Russia ever had (if there are any left) was murdered yesterday at the hands of Vladimir Putin.
Alexei Navalny was a Russian opposition leader, anti-corruption activist, and politician who gained prominence for his investigations into corruption among high-ranking Russian officials and oligarchs.
Early Life and Education:
Alexei Navalny was born on June 4, 1976, in Butyn, Russia, near Moscow. He grew up in Obninsk, a city southwest of Moscow. Navalny studied law at the Russian State Law Academy and later earned a degree in securities and exchanges from the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation. He also holds a Master of Laws degree from Yale University.
Legal Career:
Navalny began his career as a lawyer, specializing in corporate law and securities. He worked for several prestigious law firms before starting his own private practice. During this time, he also started to engage in activism, primarily focusing on exposing corruption in the Russian government and state-owned companies.
