When it comes to iconic sports cars, Ferrari has always been at the forefront of automotive excellence. The year 1999 saw the production of a true enthusiast’s dream — the Ferrari 360 Modena. What set this particular model apart was the option for a traditional 6-speed manual transmission, providing a hands-on driving experience that appealed to those who relished the art of shifting gears themselves. I bought a used 2000 model with 25,000 miles on it. Over the next seven years, I added 100,000 trouble-free miles, including 3,000 track miles, with only one belt service at 65,000 miles.

Under the Hood: The Heart of the Beast
At the core of the Ferrari 360 Modena beats a 3.6-liter V8 engine, unleashing a symphony of around 400 horsepower. The distinctive high-pitched exhaust note, a trademark of Ferrari engines, announced the arrival of a performance-driven machine that promised an exhilarating journey on the open road.

Embracing Tradition: The Stick Shift Transmission
In an era where automated manual transmissions were gaining popularity, the 360 Modena stood out for offering a classic 6-speed manual gearbox. This choice spoke to purists and driving enthusiasts who cherished the direct engagement and tactile connection with the car that only a manual transmission could provide.
