Is Your Sales Pitch Tired and Ineffective?
Massage parlors and bars in Thailand all follow the same sales and marketing plan. They sit half a dozen girls on chairs in front of their store and yell “Helloooo” with a long O at each passerby. Sometimes that cry is, “Hellooo massageee.” With a long E. There may be five hundred massage parlors in Patong Beach, and as I do 20,000 steps a day at one point or another, I’ve passed most of them. No one has a different approach to sales and marketing.
It’s the same with bars of which there are more than five hundred, six or seven girls on bar stools facing the street with the standard pitch of “Helloooo” yelled at anything that passes in front of them.
So, I’m sitting at the Happy Bar, a tiny bar with 12 chairs and six past their prime bar girls. I come here each night because it’s close to my condo, and the music playlist is good before I head out for dinner. I am usually the only one here in fact the only reason I went there in the first place was that I was taking shelter from a massive downpour.
