I agree that many Russians are pro-Putin or nonplussed, but the declining economics are undeniable. The collapse of the Soviet Union was brought on in large part by Reagan outspending them on defense. Putin is spending his reserves at a rapid rate. The oligarchs all hate him; 500,000 mothers hate him. The rot is in. It could take a month, a year, or even two, but when the fall comes, it will be rapid.
