Every Business Has a Perfect-Timing Zone to Boost Sales — What’s Yours?
2 min readJan 8, 2022
Persistence is a very important aspect in sales, but you could be flogging a dead horse if your timing is off. Timing may not be everything, but it’s an important factor that’s often overlooked by many salespeople. Trying to sell outside the “perfect timing zone” makes your job ten times harder!
For example:
- January is the best month to sell weight-loss programs, health-club memberships, karate lessons, and personal improvement products of all kinds. After that, New Year’s resolutions are forgotten and it gets progressively harder to sign people up, until it’s all but impossible by the middle of the summer!
- After the kids go back to school there is an upswing of consumer motivation for many products!
- In the golf business, the majority of clubs do their next year’s budgets in October and November, hence they are our two most productive months for leads and sales in my golf marketing business.
- People normally look for a new car about the time they just finished paying for the last one!
- Boat sales sell in spring and summer.
- Big screen TV’s sell well before big sporting events like the Super Bowl and World Cup.
- Toys of course sell great in December
